We are devoted to helping students explore their vocal gender presentation.
We encourage students to find new ways to express themselves and be heard. Vox Nova is a studio founded by Chicago-based vocal instructor and performer Selene da Silva. We are devoted to helping students explore their vocal gender presentation.
We’re here to help you find a voice that feels like yours.
Vox Nova was founded by trans people — all Vox Nova employees are trans. Our mission is to help trans people everywhere shape their voices to match who they are. We want to help you find a voice that feels like yours.
Our goal is for you to feel at ease while pursuing your vocal goals.
We understand dysphoria — we’ve had it. If you’re transfemme, transmasc, nonbinary, genderfluid, agender, questioning, or cisgender we want to be there for you. We realize that helping you make specific gender-coded sounds is just part of the picture. No matter who you are, our goal is for you to feel at ease learning vocal control.
Wanting to “pass” is valid. Androgynous voice goals are valid.
Lots of trans people want an androgynous voice — we can help. People who have already started their gender voice journey and want to refine their sound further — we can help. People who are starting from square one and want a passing voice ASAP — we can help. No matter where you are in your journey, we want to help you find new ways to express yourself and be heard.
